In this section we have a few examples of pulled and poured sugar centerpieces.

Centerpieces made from poured and pulled sugar are entirely edible but are considered more for appearance since they generally just taste like very large pieces of candy. These centerpieces can, however, be flavored slightly if that is desired.

The above are pictures of a poured sugar centerpiece that was created for the Chinese new year and the largest of the twelve Zodiac animals is the animal that was associated with that new year, which in this case was the rat. These discs were hand painted using food coloring and are leaning on baked Azuki buns. These baked goods contain a sweet red bean paste called Azuki which is very popular in China, Japan and Korea.

The above image is an example of a pulled sugar centerpiece that was created around Christmas time and contains all three sugar techniques. The caramel colored base is made from poured sugar, the flowers, candles and ribbon are made from pulled sugar and the ornament is made from blown sugar.

While the above may be somewhat fragile, if handled properly the results can be very beautiful.
